About Stacey Stockwell

Stacey is the owner of Stacey Stockwell Training Ltd, which provides Disability Awareness training courses to companies and organisations throughout the UK. She is a Musical Theatre/Performance Signer, and a Deafblind Communicator-Guide. She has been training in almost all aspects of Disability Awareness for 30 years. She has presented on the subject of Disability Awareness for the Council of Europe in Copenhagen and The World Media Festival in Rome.
Stacey is passionate about providing accessibility for a wide range of shows and performances in order that members of the Deaf, Deafblind and disabled community can enjoy them. She specialises in Musical Theatre, has signed many hit musicals, and was also a member of the UK Festival Interpreting Team where she signed for major bands.
Stacey set up a group of likeminded people who have been studying BSL, Deaf Awareness and performance signing with her. Some of this group have now gone on to make up the “Smile & Sign Performance Signing Team,” whose aim is to provide accessibility for choirs and musical theatre groups who otherwise would not be able to provide a signer due to the lack of funds, which is sadly a large factor now within the arts arena.
