About Louise Blackburn
Louise Blackburn - Acapella.jpg

Louise believes that singing isn't a talent you either have or don't — it's something every human being is born with. Rooted in the philosophy of the Natural Voice Network, her approach starts from a simple but radical idea: that for thousands of years, all over the world, people have sung — to express joy, grief, and celebration, to accompany work and devotion, to aid healing — without worrying about having a "good" voice or getting it right. Her job, as she sees it, is to help people find their way back to that.
As Musical Director of Voices Entwined, Louise has spent nearly 15 years building exactly the kind of community that philosophy calls for — no auditions, no judgement, no music-reading required. Songs are taught by ear, voices of every shape are welcomed, and the focus is always on the joy of singing together rather than the pursuit of perfection.
That work has taken her far beyond the rehearsal room. She has led a cappella workshops at the Beardy Folk Festival, the Howling Wolves Community Choir Festival, and the Sing Away Community Choir Festival. She also brings voice into yoga workshops, exploring how breath, body, and song connect in ways that go well beyond music.
Every voice is as unique as a fingerprint and Louise works to help you find yours and the joy in singing with others.
