Accessibility Information

At Solihull Choir Festival, we’re committed to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone. We believe music should be accessible to all, and we’ve worked closely with our venues and partners to ensure that the festival is inclusive, supportive, and easy to navigate for attendees with a range of access needs.

Friday: 10am - 5:45pm

Saturday: 11am - 6pm (Until 8pm if attending the networking event)

Sunday: 11am - 6pm

(The Courtyard in front of The Core Theatre)

Enter either via the walkway at the side of The Core Theatre, from Homer Road, or through the double doors exiting Touchwood (in front of the lift/ escalators)

💷 Cost:

Attendance is free for all participants and audience members! (No need to book!)

🚽 Toilets & Baby change

There are toilets and wheelchair accessible toilet facilities on ground floor  of The Core Theatre (Left of Encore cafe bar) and first floor (near the Upper Floor Theatre entrance). There are baby changing facilities on the ground floor

👋 Sign

This event is being performance signed, provided by Smile & Sign. Signers are:

Signers will be using a mix of SSE (Sign Supported English) and BSL (British Sign Language)

🧑‍🦽Wheelchair Access

There is a ramp to access Theatre square from Homer Road.

There are no steps required to access Theatre Square from Touchwood.

 

The workshop activity taking place in The Core is all on the ground level, and will require no steps.

 

The outdoor stage will include a ramp for wheelchair users who are performing.

The stage will also be covered to prevent slipping if there is light rain.

🧑‍🦽‍➡️Attendance:

The maximum capacity of Theatre Square is 400 plus staff and volunteers 

Max capacity on stage is 60 performers.

We do expect this event to be well attended, so please take care of yourself if crowds are overwhelming for you.

🤫 Quiet Space

A quiet space is available to use throughout the day located in the Core Creatives Space on 1st floor of The Core. 

Getting Here

🚂 By Train:

Solihull Station is a 7 min walk/ roll (approx 0.5 miles) 

🚗 By Car:

The closest carpark is Touchwood car park, immediately adjacent to 

the venue on Homer Road. 

Once inside follow signs for The Core into the Orange zone. There are marked extra width spaces near lift & escalators up to ground floor of Touchwood. 

Also in this area you will find the Shopmobility counter (Tel: 0121 709 6980). Motorised scooters/wheelchairs can be made available for use to reach the venue by arrangement. Exit Touchwood by the glass doors into Theatre Square.

Alternative carparks:

Monkspath Hall Road: 8 min walk/roll (approx 0.4 miles)

Tudor Grange Leisure Centre Carpark: 9 min walk/ roll (approx 0.5 miles). 2 hours free
