2025

Taking place in 2025, the very first Solihull Choir Festival was a joyful celebration of music, community, and inclusion. Across three unforgettable days, 27th to 29th June, we welcomed 15 schools and 25 choirs to the stage, showcasing a rich variety of styles from pop, gospel, and musical theatre to church music and Makaton-led performances. In total, 1,268 singers, aged 8 to 82, brought Touchwoods' Theatre Square to life, filling the space with joy and energy.

The festival embodied an inclusive ethos, with standout performances from groups such as SoLO Choir, Solihull Music Inclusive Choir, and Chelmsley Wood’s Wellbeing Choir. Over 3,000 audience members joined us to share in the experience, with 283 people taking part in our free workshops and 43 attendees connected at our networking event, helping to grow and strengthen the local choral community.

Such a positive feeling of happiness and companionship. The overwhelming feel good atmosphere and the incredible work and effort that was put into every single minute of the three days. It was nothing less that joyous!

Stacey Stockwell's Smile & Sign Team

One of the most moving and memorable aspects of the 2025 Solihull Choir Festival was the incredible contribution of Stacey Stockwell’s Smile & Sign team.

A dedicated group of eight signers, they signed every single performance throughout the day - ensuring that the joy and meaning of each song was accessible to everyone in

the audience, including those from the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Their presence didn’t just enhance the performances, it elevated them. With expressive, heartfelt signing that matched the energy and emotion of each choir, the Smile & Sign team truly became stars of the show.

I think one of the best aspects of the festival was the performance signers! They brought a whole new level of performance to each choir, and they were just brilliant!
